Hong Kong Visit Visa for Pakistani Nationals in Islamabad

Holders of Pakistani ordinary passports must get a visa before visiting Hong Kong. Pakistan is officially included in the Hong Kong Immigration Department’s August 2026 regulations as a nationality that requires a visa, including transit in Hong Kong, unless the traveler qualifies under the stipulated diplomatic/official-passport exception. You should obtain a visa before traveling.

This book covers both the Hong Kong Tourist/Visit Visa and the Hong Kong Business Visit Visa, as well as documentation, application procedures, sponsorship, financial requirements, processing, and useful suggestions.

Hong Kong Visit Visa for Pakistani Nationals

A Hong Kong visit visa is suitable for:

Tourism and holidays

Sightseeing

Visiting friends or relatives

Family trips

Short private visits

Certain short business-related visits

Conferences and events, depending on the purpose

A visitor must have enough cash in order to sustain themselves throughout their stay without working and, in most cases, an onward or return ticket. Visitors are not permitted to take up job, establish or join a business, or study while visiting.

Important Note

Hong Kong has its own immigration and visa system which is not the same as China. If any traveler wants to visit Hong Kong and China in one go, then the traveler will arrange separate visas for both destinations.

A Pakistani applicant should be able to demonstrate:

  • Genuine purpose of visit
  • Valid travel document
  • Sufficient financial resources
  • Accommodation arrangements
  • Return/onward travel
  • Reasonable itinerary
  • Strong ties to Pakistan
  • No immigration or security concerns

Hong Kong Immigration may request additional documents or information even after the initial application has been submitted.

Your passport should have sufficient validity and blank pages for travel.

Hong Kong Visa Application Form

The principal application form is:

The official form asks for information including:

  • Applicant’s personal details
  • Passport details
  • Occupation
  • Purpose of visit
  • Proposed arrival/departure dates

  • Accommodation
  • Sponsor details, if applicable.

The form includes a section for Business Visit, which includes the company’s name/address, contact information, and expected business activity.

Travel Itinerary

A detailed itinerary is important.

For example:

Day 2: Hong Kong Island sightseeing
Day 3: Victoria Peak / Harbour area
Day 4: Disneyland / cultural attractions
Day 5: Kowloon sightseeing
Day 6: Shopping / free day

The itinerary should match your Flight reservation, Hotel booking and Intended length of stay

Hotel / Accommodation

Provide accommodation evidence for your intended stay, such as:

  • Hotel reservation
  • Accommodation confirmation
  • Host accommodation details, where applicable

For tourism, it is better to have a detailed schedule and accommodation strategy rather than merely submitting an inexplicable hotel booking.

Return Air Ticket

Applicants should provide evidence of their:

  • Return ticket, or
  • Onward journey

According to Hong Kong Immigration, tourists should typically possess onward or return tickets unless they are crossing to mainland China or Macao.

Additional financial evidence

Depending on your circumstances:

  • Salary slips
  • Employment income
  • Business income
  • Tax documents
  • Investment documents
  • Property evidence

There is no useful worldwide “minimum bank balance” requirement for a Hong Kong visa. Your financial situation should be adequate to support the proposed length and cost of the trip.

Employment Documents

For Salaried Employee

Provide:

  • Employment certificate
  • Salary certificate
  • Approved leave/NOC
  • Recent salary slips
  • Company contact details

The employer letter should clearly explain that you are expected to return to work after the trip.

For a business owner, the application should explicitly state why the applicant must return to Pakistan.

For Student

Provide:

  • Student card
  • Enrollment/bonafide certificate
  • Leave/permission letter
  • Sponsor’s financial documents, if parents are funding the trip

Family Documents

Where applicable, include:

  • CNIC
  • NADRA FRC
  • Marriage certificate
  • Birth certificates of children
  • Evidence of family relationship

These documents can help establish the applicant’s circumstances and family ties.
